bam bam boozle-o

Hey everyone. Here's a quick update as to the happenings of Outsmarting Simon. First off, we have some local shows coming up. This coming Tuesday, April 12th, is when our new record comes out. That evening, we'll be playing at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ. Please check the shows page for directions and such. Anyhow, we'll play some stuff from the new record and maybe a few old ones for good measure. Of course, you can also pick up a copy of the new CD if you feel so inclined. I'm also considering baking some cookies to celebrate, but I can't make any promises. This is a free show, and we would all really appreciate it if you could come out.

Other than that, we're still tying up loose ends with our unofficial official record release show on April 22nd. Right now, I know for sure that it will be us, Monument (featuring survivor Ben O'Brien), and superdudes Alli with an I from NC. I'm pretty sure there will be at least one more band, and I'm sure they will be great. We'll be playing a lot of stuff from the new record, some from the old record, and a few surprises to boot. I know from experience that it's a super cool house, and the people there are awesome, so please don't hesitate to come by and spend the night with us.

Finally, we do actually have some out-of-state shows on the agenda, and of course, The Bamboozle on April 29th. I'm hoping for some warmer weather as compared to last year's skate and surf, but I guess that's beyond my control. Well, at least not having Maguire's crash cymbal blow over will be an improvement.

As for the particulars, we've all been working our respective jobs and getting together as often as we can to practice and prepare. We did have some big plans in the works for touring, but I guess things don't always work out. Regardless, we're buckling down and planning to hit the road forever starting this summer. Hope to see you all then.
